The following symptoms indicate that your Audi air suspension is malfunctioning
1. Grinding and clicking noises while driving
When your air suspension fails, your fans and other components need to pick up the slack. So you hear all the extra work.
2. Your Audi is not driving smoothly
This is the most obvious sign, if you experience bumps while driving your vehicle on the road, your suspension is broken.

How to replace a damaged rear air spring
1. Disconnect the car battery and keep it safe.
2. Jack up your Audi.
3. Remove the rear wheel.
4. Disconnect the air line behind the air spring. Unscrew the air fitting here with a wrench.
5. Remove swing rod nut and bolt.
6. Remove lower shock absorber mounting bolts.
7. Unplug the electrical connector. These connectors are for your speed sensor. All that's needed here is a simple disconnect.
8. Locate the set screw under the air spring and remove it.
9. Remove air spring from Audi.
10. Install new air springs.
11. Put the set screw under the air spring back in place.
12. Connect the electrical connectors.
13. Re-tighten the lower shock mounting bolts and lower sway bar nuts and bolts. Use your standard wrench.
14. Connect new air tube to new air spring. Remove the fitting from the air hose. Then attach the hose to the back of the air spring.
15. Put the wheel back on the car
16. Lower the vehicle. You can now reconnect the battery. Start the engine and wait a few minutes to make sure the air suspension and all other components are working properly.
